Dance, dance, dance – even as a young boy, Zurich native Yves Cueni found the perfect form of self-expression. He learned hip-hop at the age of eleven, before moving on to ballet training and his first role at the Zurich Opera House at the age of 19. Today, he is just as much in demand as a choreographer as a dance teacher and dancer, having recently appeared on stage with artists including Kylie Minogue, Rita Ora and the Black Eyed Peas, and also regularly in major film productions. Poetic aesthetics, sensuous body language and pure dynamism – Cueni combines them all. Dance is the very opposite of standing still, and Yves Cueni therefore represents a fundamental enrichment to the work of the 079 crew because he has always sought to incorporate completely disparate genres into his art.
